You are not going to lose your job to AI, but to somebody who uses AI: Nvidia CEO

The Nvidia boss went so far as to claim that there is a "shortage of workers" and noted, “For the very first time in history we actually can imagine the opportunity…to put 30-40 million workers back into the workforce.”

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently shared his views on artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on jobs, while speaking at the Milken Institute’s Global Conference 2025. “Every job will be affected. Some jobs will be lost, some jobs will be created; but every job will be affected,” he said.

Huang went on to clarify, “You are not going to lose your job to AI, but you are going to lose your job to somebody who uses AI.”

Huang then explained how AI could bridge the technology divide between those who know how to programme and those who don’t.

Providing an example, he pointed out that most people at the conference might not know how to programme in C++ or C. “Yet 100% of you know how to programme in AI,” he said, referring to vibe coding. “The reason for that is because AI will speak whatever language you want it to speak.”

Huang elaborated on how users could interact with AI by drawing a schematic, speaking to it, or giving explicit or implicit prompts.

“Artificial intelligence is probably our best way to increase the global GDP,” he emphasised, and urged attendees to embrace AI, advising, “Don't be that person who ignores this technology and this result loses you.”

This optimistic outlook comes amid growing global concerns over job displacement due to AI. A recent report from SEO.AI revealed that 14% of workers have already felt AI’s impact. However, the effects have been less severe than originally feared.
